Tom Jennings (June 30, 1968)

It was at dusk, during an unseasonable storm, when Nicholas Blair removed the stake from my chest. He commanded, “You will rise, Tom Jennings, you will rise!”

I lunged toward him, but he stopped me. “I am your master. I have saved you. You will do what I say.” He also threatened that if he used the stake on me a second time, I would be condemned to live in darkness forever.

So, I found myself crawling through Victoria Winters’s window at Collinwood. Although she looked lovely sleeping, I could think of only one thing and I bared my fangs…

…but then Barnabas heard Vickie scream and burst into the room. I had no choice but to return to the turbulent sky outside.

When I returned to the house by the sea, I stood outside the window and saw my brother, Chris, standing with Nicholas. I think he also saw me.

Later, Barnabas came snooping around the house. As I write this, I’m preparing to face him in the cellar where I’m certain he’ll find my empty coffin.

I entered the house by the sea and made my way to the room in the cellar to put an end to the vampire that was once Tom Jennings. However, his coffin was empty. I went back upstairs to wait for him to returmn and watched out the window.

Tom grabbed me from behind, but I managed to spin away from him and grab two candlesticks. I used them to form a crucifix and thrust them in front of him. He backed away, crying, “No! Take it away! Take it away!” he cried.

As he begged for mercy, I told him there was no use now and to look out the window. He promised to do anything for me, but I told him he was staying up here by the window until the sun came up.

I told him that I knew what he was going through and felt sorry for him. He replied, “Then don’t do this to me.” But, I had to do it.

The sun finally crept through the window and Tom pleaded with me to stop, that it wasn’t too late. As he continued to scream in agony, I told him that, yes, his time was up. His screams soon dissipated as Tom Jennings, vampire, simply faded away.
